How to measure

Semi Truck

A tape measure and a few minutes. Here is each measurement Build Your Ramp will ask you for, and exactly where to take it.

Your semi truck

Plate 06A · SemiAcross the platform · width
Semi tractor platform width measurement from outside edge to outside edge
Platform WidthMeasure the usable platform from one outside edge to the opposite outside edge. Measure straight across the platform from side to side at its widest usable point. Not the chassis rails, the sleeper, the gap between the exhaust stacks, the fifth wheel, or a diagonal. A semi always loads from the side, so this is a width, not a length.
Plate 06B · SemiLevel ground · height
Semi tractor deck height measurement from ground to top of platform
Deck Height to GroundWith the tractor parked on level ground, measure vertically from the ground to the top surface of the platform.Measure at the platform itself, not to the underside of the platform, the frame rail, the fifth wheel, a fender, the sleeper or the top of a tire.

Your motorcycle

You'll also need your motorcycle's total length and weight.
